Yesterday I asked Ryan if he wanted to join me for a Posey’s run. While I enjoy Ryan’s company during the short walk to the convenience store and back, I had an additional motive. Because I wasn’t carrying cash, I figured I would use my check card to buy a lemonade and a Hostess apple pie, plus whatever Ryan wanted. You see, my snack alone wouldn’t have satisfied the five-dollar minimum requirement for debit purchases.
A problem arose. Ryan had just returned from Posey’s, and he didn’t need any snacks. He just wanted to get out of the office. Being the awesome guy he is, he offered to lend me cash.
The lemonade, pie and sales tax came to $2.89. Ryan opened his wallet to find naught but two singles. I was just about to add $2.11 worth of Slim Jims to my order, but figured I ought to check all my pockets for hidden monies. I pulled all the coins from my bluejeans to reveal exactly two quarters, three dimes, a nickel and four pennies. Providence.
I left the store feeling satisfied that occasionally things work out well for me. And for perhaps the first time in my life, I used the phrase “I’m blogging this.” So I did.
And now for an unrelated anecdote.
Danielle made the most awesome sandwiches for dinner last night. She whipped up some tiny meatloaves that were baked in mini-muffin tins, and served them on rolls with mayo and provolone. It sounds like a typical meatball sub on paper, but I promise you it was so much more. Maybe it was the bakery-fresh bread or the deli-sliced cheese or the tangy red sauce the mini-loaves simmered in. Whatever it was, the taste was like coming face-to-face with sandwich Jesus. (Mmmmmmm, sarelicious.)
I’m very much looking forward to tonight’s leftovers.

I’d never heard of this guy until about a year ago. I only discovered this music after playing Portal for the first time. JoCo (as we fans call him) wrote the song that plays during the end credits. I was instantly hooked. I embarked on a mission to seek out and discover all things Coulton, and his complete repertoire has graced my iPod ever since. We have tickets to see Mr. Coulton in San Francisco this January, and I’m beyond geeked about seeing him perform live.
In honor of the occasion, I recorded this overly-long video of me noodling around on the keyboard, playing just a handful of my favorite JoCo tunes. This medley could have easily gone on for hours, but here are the very special tracks that made the cut (in the order they appear):

According to Technorati Media, 175,000 new blogs are created every single day. Today, November 23rd, 2008, I’m adding my own voice to the vast chorus of unwashed masses crowding the ever-expanding blogscape.
What should one expect to find on SpaceParanoids.net? Well, we’re going to have to find out together. I’m going to make an effort to create some interesting content. You’ll certainly find some original music and plenty of photographs. You’ll probably find some artsy stuff now and then. I may craft a Photoshop tutorial or two. I’m sure I’ll be tempted to share my opinions on politics, religion, popular culture and bacon, as well as my personal experiences as the proud father of a precocious toddler named Ethan, a 25-pound bundle of pure energy around whom my world currently revolves.
Will my humble blog stand out among the other 174,999 blogs launching today? I doubt it. But if you’re reading this, something has brought you to my corner of the intarwebs, and I welcome you sincerely. I encourage you to make comments and offer any kind of feedback. As long as it’s positive. Critical comments (constructive or otherwise) will be gleefully deleted.
