Comment by Sean on December 1st, 2010

WHOA! Simply fantastic. The attention to detail. Great textures with each of the faux-logos. The zoom and bloom effects are timed really well with the film and aren’t nauseating.

I’m really curious, what elements did you do in Toon Bloom Animate? If you want to write at all about how you used each tool, I’d be very interested to hear!

Comment by Colin on December 1st, 2010

Incredibly excellent!

Comment by Brett on December 1st, 2010

Congrats on a superb video. I must say that it really captures the spirit of the song quite well. If it were available on iTunes, I’d buy it right now.

Jarrett -

Awesome work. I see the amount of hours into this project. Love the subtle stuff you threw in. Made it a total win.

Toss a link to JoCo’s site on your YT video and a link to iTunes to buy the song. You’re going viral with this puppy, so spread the love as a birthday present for JoCo. You’re going to open his work up to a TON of people who have never heard of him with this.

You’re blowing up, Jarrett. Congratulations.

Any chance you’d post a full size JPEG of the canvas you used on the chorus? I’m betting it’s a pretty interesting piece of art on its own.

Comment by Arlene vd Meulen on December 2nd, 2010

So, so great!

Comment by Erin on December 2nd, 2010

I’ve watched this video at least a half a dozen times today. It keeps getting better. And I keep catching subtle touches I missed the many OTHER times I’ve watched it. It’s complex. It’s layered. It’s extraordinarily well executed. This picked up nearly fifty thousand views today. It deserves millions of views. It may have that by next week.

I also want to see a typography version of “Trapped Inside Your Sofa.” Please, make it so.

Comment by Russ Rogers (of Godz Poodlz) on December 2nd, 2010

You are a freaking genius! This speaks directly to my suburban pain, hah.

That’s a GENUINE talent. Well done :)

I’m still finding new things in each play. Must have seen this 20+ times, and just caught the animation of the grace notes in time to the guitar whammy bar at 2:13 and 2:23. Astounding level of detail in this puppy!! Congrats Jarrett on a job well done.

Comment by Stacy on April 18th, 2011

It was Awesome!! I was enjoying this typography animation.

Comment by Tina on April 26th, 2011

I think I have probably watched this video over 20 times since I first found it two days ago on YouTube! Every single time I watch it, I see something new… the graphics are so detailed, the animations so smooth, and everything just fits perfectly with the song; it’s definitely the best typography animation I’ve ever seen.

It’s incredible the amount of time you put into this project; you must be really passionate about art and music. I’m an artist and musician myself, but I’ve never tried kinetic typography, which I’ve come to define as the perfect synthesis of art, music and language. This is definitely something that I’m looking forward to do before I die (I’m 20 so I hope there’s still time).

Thank you so much for sharing this with the world! It made my weekend, and I’m sure it’s made tons of other people smile worldwide. Keep up your fantastic work and God bless your talent!

Looking forward to more of your excellent kinetic typography animations,

Susana

Comment by Shane Thomas on May 24th, 2011

Jarrett,

I’ve been a huge fan of your ShopVac typography video since you first posted it up to Reddit. I’d like to talk to you, if you’re interested, about making a video for my company. We are looking to make an animated overview of the company and because I’ve watched your video about 1,000 times, I thought of you first.

Do you do this type of work on a project basis?

Anyway, even if you aren’t interested/available, you should know that you’ve got another fan!
