Tremendous. Could you post a downloadable version of it?
Blew. My. Mind.
So, um, how many hours would you say went into this video?
My bet’s at around 200.
This is amazing, great job! Jesus, the music notes appearing as they were played, the stuff on the iPhone, words appearing driving down the street, everything – well done.
Amazing – loved the sheet music animation!
Amazing
We just featured it on Whitezine.com // We’re really amazed by your work. Please feel free to send us whatever you come up with next !!

I second this. I want a downloadable file for my iPod touch!
Just saw this , Have to say you hit the nail on the head.
I want a shop vac!
Great work Jarrett!
This is unbelievable. What a terrific job.
This was absolutely awesome, thanks for sharing it!
No need to say please. I enjoyed this animation you made! Seriously, made my day.
Amazing. Best video I’ve seen all year.
WHOA! Simply fantastic. The attention to detail. Great textures with each of the faux-logos. The zoom and bloom effects are timed really well with the film and aren’t nauseating.
I’m really curious, what elements did you do in Toon Bloom Animate? If you want to write at all about how you used each tool, I’d be very interested to hear!
Congrats on a superb video. I must say that it really captures the spirit of the song quite well. If it were available on iTunes, I’d buy it right now.
Great stuff. It’ll be doing time on my blog starting tomorrow.
thank you for sharing this! it’s wonderful for my design and branding students.

Awesome work. I see the amount of hours into this project. Love the subtle stuff you threw in. Made it a total win.
Toss a link to JoCo’s site on your YT video and a link to iTunes to buy the song. You’re going viral with this puppy, so spread the love as a birthday present for JoCo. You’re going to open his work up to a TON of people who have never heard of him with this.

You’re blowing up, Jarrett. Congratulations.
Any chance you’d post a full size JPEG of the canvas you used on the chorus? I’m betting it’s a pretty interesting piece of art on its own.
Beautiful
Cries out for someone to take a crack at doing a real-time rendered version using HTML5. (A la The Wilderness Downtown)
This was fantastic. I reall really enjoyed it. I would love to see more of these.
wow fantastic! just kinda clicking around your brothers facebook and checking out Tammy’s had no idea where you were or what you were into. But it sounds and looks great. Your son is beautful! Take good care nice to see even a little bit of you lol. Arlene & Jan
So, so great!
I’ve watched this video at least a half a dozen times today. It keeps getting better. And I keep catching subtle touches I missed the many OTHER times I’ve watched it. It’s complex. It’s layered. It’s extraordinarily well executed. This picked up nearly fifty thousand views today. It deserves millions of views. It may have that by next week.
I also want to see a typography version of “Trapped Inside Your Sofa.” Please, make it so.
You are a freaking genius! This speaks directly to my suburban pain, hah.
Every time I watch this I spot something new and clever (and I’ve watched it dozens of times today). This is my new favoritest thing in the world. Amazingly fantastic.
Fantastic. Love so many pieces of it. (And as a guitar player, love the solo notated). Best, Arthur
You could make a living at doing this! Absolutely astounding!
You are so cooooooooool!
Absolutely Awesome! Found it on dump.com, via wimp.com. I would love to be able to do this. Great work!
As a Coulton fan and a font freak, you hit two of my sweet spots.
That was effin’ brilliant. And I laughed out loud at the way you handled the Starbucks line.
This was incredible. I’ve always loved this song and this video really did it justice. Can’t wait to see more of your work in the future!
Brilliant! So many layers of relevance! And absolutely incredibly executed.
Absolutely amazing! Way to go. The music notes were my favorite part. The drawing on the man’s face and the shop vac were a close second!
Absolute genius! By day’s end you’ll have 230+ new fans in the Mac Lab. (It’s typography week on the big screen and Shop Vac is our featured short today.)
Your fan,
Mike
Excellent video!
Not to sound repetitive or anything, but this is the best video I’ve ever seen. Unbelievably creative and imaginative. My God, I never get tired of watching. You are an inspiration. Thanks for what must have been an incredibly laborious effort. Handing the baton over to the rest of your many admirers….
Nice! Please also check out this cute Little Drummer Boy video:

You and Mr. Coulton have inspired us! Incredible KTA and great music with commentary. My wife and I have looking for the right video medium to present her work in and BLAMMO, here it is. I hope that we can pull it off as smartly as you have. Viralosity to JayHay and JoCo!!!
More! More! More!
Erm, WOW!
How did I not know about this before? AWEsome song, and an equally AWEsome animation for it. Extreme talent in both yourself & Mr Coulton.
You could be doing so many things such as movie credits, videos, advertising etc.
That’s a GENUINE talent. Well done
Wow. Outstanding. Amazing. Stupendous. And a few other words I can’t think of right now.
You’re super talented.
Dan
We’re not worthy…
AWESOME!
Yeah! totally awesome!
No words to express the perfection and the cuteness of the work ![]()
Best wishes.
Completely, utterly amazing. I’m inspired. Awesome, awesome work!

Fantastic work. how long did that take you?
You should have your own movie studio…only 500 to 1000 hours? I’m sure’ll be getting job offers from this.
I’m still finding new things in each play. Must have seen this 20+ times, and just caught the animation of the grace notes in time to the guitar whammy bar at 2:13 and 2:23. Astounding level of detail in this puppy!! Congrats Jarrett on a job well done.
All people deserve good life and loans or term loan will make it better. Just because people’s freedom relies on money state.
This is a very cool animation. I have tried to make a kinetic typography and failed miserably. I am so impressed, it takes a lot of time and talent. Great Job. Is there a way to make it with out after effects. I do have Adobe Premier Pro.
I think I have probably watched this video over 20 times since I first found it two days ago on YouTube! Every single time I watch it, I see something new… the graphics are so detailed, the animations so smooth, and everything just fits perfectly with the song; it’s definitely the best typography animation I’ve ever seen.
It’s incredible the amount of time you put into this project; you must be really passionate about art and music. I’m an artist and musician myself, but I’ve never tried kinetic typography, which I’ve come to define as the perfect synthesis of art, music and language. This is definitely something that I’m looking forward to do before I die (I’m 20 so I hope there’s still time).
Thank you so much for sharing this with the world! It made my weekend, and I’m sure it’s made tons of other people smile worldwide. Keep up your fantastic work and God bless your talent!
Looking forward to more of your excellent kinetic typography animations,
Susana
Jarrett,
I’ve been a huge fan of your ShopVac typography video since you first posted it up to Reddit. I’d like to talk to you, if you’re interested, about making a video for my company. We are looking to make an animated overview of the company and because I’ve watched your video about 1,000 times, I thought of you first.
Do you do this type of work on a project basis?
Anyway, even if you aren’t interested/available, you should know that you’ve got another fan!

WOW, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched this and I still catch something new each and every time. I posted it a year ago on my blog, and I still love watching it. I hope you do more of these, thanks for your amazing effort in this one!
blessings!

By far, this is the best resume I’ve seem. Kudos.
Jarrett,
I would like to know what impact making this video has had on your career. Has it brought you business?
I think it is the finest example of kinetic typography in existence, and that you have raised the bar for anyone trying to do similar ventures. This is an art form I didn’t know existed. Thank you.
